Summer Student - Security and Compliance

Overview

Assist with ISMS/CIP support, policy work, risk assessments, KPIs, and audit preparation.

Tasks

-Assist with ongoing support for ongoing continuous improvement initiatives within the information security programs -Assist with the development and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) related to AltaLink's information security programs -Participate as a core team member on multiple programs within the Security and Information Services team -Assist with ongoing change management and communication support related to AltaLink's information security programs -Manage and address information security inquiries and responses from both internal and external parties -Assist with the documentation and execution of Risk Assessment and Treatment within in-scope areas -Provide support to the Security and Compliance team in preparation for upcoming audits and certification reviews -Assist with the development or revision of information security standards, policies and operational procedures -Assist information security stakeholders to interpret and collect ISMS and CIP compliance artifacts and evidence -Assist in the management of storage locations for all information security electronic and hard copy documentation.

What You Bring

-Understanding of enterprise change management models and concepts -Minimum 2nd year student, pursuing a degree in Computer Sciences, Business Admin or equivalent program -Familiarity with ISO Standards would be an asset -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Proven track record of good attendance and job performance. -All candidates must demonstrate key behaviors and meet identified expectations outlined in our four cultural pillars - one team, continuous improvement, customer focus and personal accountability -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Experience with the development and review of policy, process and procedure documentation -Strong computing skills in MS Office Applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) -Understanding of risk assessment processes -Strong interpersonal skills -Ability to learn and take direction from all members of the ISMS team -Understanding of audit processes and concepts -Understand the structure and intent of the ISO 27000 management framework -Familiarity with Alberta Reliability Standards would be an asset -Understanding of continuous improvement processes and models
