Senior Quantity Surveyor managing rail/civil asset projects £100k-£1m

Tasks

-Providing commercial support to site and contracts management teams, as well as the Estimating and Procurement teams. -Promptly submitting estimates and tendering information to clients. -Documenting support for additional payments, variations, claims, etc. -Guaranteeing payments are received according to the contract terms. -Preparing and negotiating Final Accounts, ensuring all contractual entitlements are addressed. -Preparing Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts. -Maintaining close communication with the client on all commercial matters, including preparing and submitting supporting information. -Overseeing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors in training, as needed. -Delivering weekly cost/value information, delivery schedules, and associated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data. -Managing procurement, negotiation, and placement of subcontract orders. -Executing other tasks as authorised by line management. -Leading financial and commercial management of subcontractors through to the settlement of their Final Accounts. -Timely presentation of all payment applications, ensuring all contractual entitlements are well-documented. -Developing forward work schedules and cash flows. -Ensuring all contractual letters, notices, and information comply with contract requirements.

What You Bring

-A relevant degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management. -Familiarity with NEC or bespoke Network Rail forms of contract. -Significant experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a rail and civil engineering asset maintenance environment, preferably working for a main contractor. -Experience in the rail sector, particularly with Network Rail projects or maintenance frameworks. -Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a contractor organisation. -Practical experience with civil engineering projects and maintenance.
