Lead RAMS strategy & implementation for rail projects, overseeing safety and reliability.

Tasks
-Develop, implement and assess quantitative and qualitative risk assessments, hazard analyses, and assurance audits, ensuring technical rigor across the deliverables and conformance with industry standards. -Develop and implement reliability and maintainability planning, implementation and demonstration, including LCC forecasting. -Drive incident management planning and emergency response strategies, ensuring operational readiness and compliance. -Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers and specialists, supporting their development into future leaders. -Enhance the world around you - from the environment to the highways, to the buildings and the terrain, WSP is the fabric of Canada. -Facilitate resolution of complex technical and operational issues, balancing client expectations with project requirements. -Shape the direction of RAMS practices within the organization, contributing to the development of standards, processes, and tools. -Lead all RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) activities for commuter rail, light rail, high speed and/or subway projects, setting the vision and ensuring alignment with organizational and client goals. -Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders on RAMS and LCC matters, building trust and ensuring clear communication. -Develop and implement Safety Management Systems and RAMS plans, guiding the team through complex technical challenges and ensuring best practices are followed. -Support preparedness for incident management planning, emergency/crisis management, and operational risk acceptance. -Represent the organization in client meetings, industry forums, and audits, demonstrating thought leadership and subject matter expertise. -Champion innovation and the adoption of new methodologies, keeping the team at the forefront of industry advancements. -Plan and manage RAMS deliverables, including scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring successful project outcomes. -Mentor your own team of professionals and direct multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth. -Promote a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement within the team and across project interfaces. -Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project managers to integrate RAMS requirements into overall project execution.

What You Bring
-Experience with requirements management, validation & verification, testing, commissioning and trial running is a plus -Experience with Safety Assessment is a plus -Extensive experience (more than 10+ years) in RAMS/System Assurance technical leadership roles within the rail industry -Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university. -Communicate with other engineering disciplines (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Track, Traction Power, Signaling, Communications, Rolling Stock, etc.) -Excellent communication, presentation, and client engagement skills. -Extensive general knowledge in rail systems, with specialization in at least one key area (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Train Control/Signaling, Traction Power, Rolling Stock, Communications, Track Infrastructure). -Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. -Strong understanding of CENELEC, CMREA, MIL-STD requirements throughout the project life cycle. -Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or eligibility for registration.
