Contribute to the full range of services offered by FMI, and support wider Haskoning activities when required
Operate company systems and tools as required
Conduct research into shipyard-related topics
Support the development of FMI’s presence and operations in Australia
Contribute to and/or lead business development activities, including proposal writing
Develop and expand the technical capabilities of FMI
Manage one or more key FMI client accounts
Manage others or work independently to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard
Perform analysis and produce high-quality reports

You have a membership (full or associate) of a professional institution(s)
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong report writing abilities.
You have a minimum ten years’ experience working in shipyards including some experience of shipyard or project management
You are willing and able to travel within Australia and internationally as required.
You are highly numerate with strong analytical skills and computer literacy.
You are energetic, motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
You are a chartered engineer or working towards becoming chartered
You have a degree or diploma in naval architecture, marine engineering or a related discipline
You have specialist skills in steel ship fabrication and consolidation and would like to transfer into consultancy
You are already an experienced consultant or would like to transfer to this sector (training and development will be provided).
You will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 or above should apply.
You have experience in ship, submarine and/or yacht construction, repair, or shipyard operations (including offshore and shipbuilding processes).
Travel within Australia and internationally as required
You are fluent in written and spoken English.

Hours: This is a full-time role which is 37.5 hours per week. We value work-life balance and understand that everyone’s needs are unique so are flexible in hours of working.
