Tasks
-Contribute to business development, proposal writing, and client management. -Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new resilience planning team staff. -Lead a team of resilience planners in the execution of inter-disciplinary resilience projects for diverse clients. -Coordinate with project managers and technical team members to ensure project staffing needs are met across the portfolio of resilience planning-related projects. -Oversee professional development, technical coaching, and career advancement of staff. -Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, GIS, data scientists, coastal and climate scientists, and others to support resourcing and teamwork. -Promote an environment that works effectively with a geographically distributed team. -Represent Dewberry in meetings with clients and other external stakeholders to resolve complex issues and to plan and coordinate work -Manage personnel actions and performance of resilience planning team staff. -Support the monitoring of project progress against project scope, schedule, budget, and quality; allocate resources as required to meet milestones. -Serve in a technical leadership, task management, or project management role on resilience-related projects, supporting all stages of project planning and execution.

These screenings will be conducted by Dewberry’s background vendor of choice and will be conducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local law. -Experience leading tasks or projects for vulnerability/risk assessments, hazard mitigation/climate adaptation strategies, outreach programs, or related natural hazard resilience work. -Interest and aptitude in leading and managing teams and projects. -Ability to provide feedback, facilitate open discourse, and seek fair and equitable solutions to conflicts. -Ability to collaborate and work effectively with coworkers, clients, and our clients’ stakeholders. -Well-developed time management skills, especially the ability to handle competing priorities and complete high-quality, detail-oriented deliverables on tight timelines within a diverse work group. -Ability to exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and tact in obtaining and analyzing information related to team management and resilience planning. -Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience. -Bachelor’s in Planning, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, or related fields. -Ability to perform an expanded array of tasks and continue to broaden experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs applicable to the department.
