The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s database environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and integrity. This position also supports enterprise applications, assists with reporting and analytics, resolves technical issues, and contributes to cross-functional projects involving data and systems.

  • Participate in application upgrades, platform migrations (including cloud transitions), and data validation efforts.
  • Ensure proper data security, integrity, and compliance with IT and regulatory standards.
  • Design, develop, and maintain database objects including stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views.
  • Participate in change control and release management processes to support software lifecycle management.
  • Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and database refactoring to ensure efficiency and scalability.
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Perform data extracts and transformations to support reporting, financial audits, and business analytics.
  • Create and manage reports and dashboards using Crystal Reports, SSRS, and Power BI based on business requirements.
  • Provide end-user support and basic training on application and reporting tools as needed.
  • Support enterprise applications by resolving issues, configuring settings, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams.
  • Maintain system documentation, including data dictionaries, process diagrams, and support guides.

Manganaro Building Group, LLC is looking for a Database Administrator to join our Beltsville, MD team. If you have extensive experience developing, overseeing and completing projects, Manganaro has a place for you!

  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, triggers, views, and indexing.
  • Understanding of backup/recovery, disaster recovery strategies, and user access control.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data imports/exports and system integrations using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or similar tools is a plus.
  • Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 2–5 years of relevant experience in database administration, systems support, or application development.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting application issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • General business or accounting system knowledge is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience creating and maintaining reports using Crystal Reports, SSRS, and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and tune query performance and troubleshoot database-related issues.
  • Familiarity with enterprise business systems such as ERP, HRIS, project management, or financial applications; experience with Vista by Viewpoint or similar platforms is preferred.
