Tasks
-Attend client meetings related to project costs and bid presentations. -Review and procure bonds and insurance pricing as required. -Convey estimate details, including risks and opportunities, to project teams. -Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers. -Assist in planning project sequencing, crew sizing, and productivity factors. -Coordinate the total estimating effort for assigned bids or negotiated projects. -Review construction plans and specifications for completeness and accuracy. -Prepare and submit complete bid packages, including scope and clarifications. -Track actual field productivity to refine and improve estimating accuracy. -Provide value engineering options to optimize project budgets. -Continuously scan the market for new opportunities, vendors, and innovations. -Develop subcontractor bid lists tailored to the Central NC market. -Apply accurate unit pricing to determine total project costs. -Work closely with internal project teams and external client representatives. -Attend trade shows to build relationships with new subcontractors and suppliers. -Conduct site visits to assess project scope and conditions. -Present estimate findings clearly to both internal and external stakeholders. -Perform detailed quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment. -Analyze external factors that may impact cost and efficiency.

What You Bring
-Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines. -Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents. -Ability to perform take-offs both digitally and manually. -Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain composure under pressure. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). -Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools for earthwork analysis is a plus. -Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. -In-depth knowledge of site development procedures, sequencing, and local building codes. -Skilled in estimating software such as PlanSwift, Agtek, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam. -Strong Excel skills, including the use of formulas and data analysis. -Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent technical training and experience considered. -Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimate preparation. -Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site estimating.
