The Role

Overview

Lead HV substation projects from concept to completion, managing resources, safety and finances.

Tasks

-Attend monthly and quarterly performance meetings with stakeholders -Planning and managing resources to hit key milestones -Use tools like Maximo, CAT, and Transpower BI for reporting and analysis -Managing project financials, variations, and reporting -Leading end-to-end delivery of HV substation projects -Monitor KPIs including Delivery (>95%), Responsiveness, Quality, and YTL -Driving continuous improvement across delivery processes -Lead safety within your team, supported by H&S reps and systems -Conducting project handovers, site audits, and safety checks -Review WIP and financials on the 2nd working day of each month -Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams -Contribute to forecasting, aged WIP tracking, and forward commitments -Ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards -Run monthly KPI reports and follow up on failures with relevant PMs -Supporting estimation and pricing on new opportunities

What You Bring

-Strong commercial and contract management skills -Bonus if you have experience using PRINCE2® or PMP® certification and knowledge of NZQA 18275/12300 units (or equivalent) -A qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience -Familiarity with HV systems, network standards, and NZ safety regulations -Confidence using MS Project, Excel, Word, and job costing tools -A full Class 1 driver’s licence -Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills -Three plus years of project management experience in HV or electrical environments
