The Role
Overview
Operate a tack truck for asphalt paving, ensuring safety and maintenance.

Tasks
-Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment. -Checks engine oil, power steering fluid, coolant level, fan belts and windshield wipers. -Completes and submits a daily truck report. -Keeps inside of bed clean of buildup of materials. -Monitors conditions to the sides and rear of vehicle by means of the rear-view mirrors and spot mirrors. -When starting vehicle in motion, always uses lower gears. -Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies. -Inspects vehicle for defects and notifies management of said defects on Driver Daily Report. Does not drive vehicle with known defect that could cause injury or property damage. -Obeys weight limit when loading truck. -Submits daily logs that comply with Company, State and Federal Regulations. -Keeps floorboards, stepping areas, and hand holds free of trash, grease, rags or other obstructions that hinder operation.. -Monitors dash gauges (oil, temperature, air, tachometer, speedometer, amperage and pyrometer). -Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving. -Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management. -Operate Tack Truck as directed by the working foreman and superintendent -Constantly monitors company radio for change of assignment and dispatch. -Checks tires, headlights, marker lights, stop lights and turn signals. -Follow directions of Supervisor as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job -Operates vehicle in a safe and professional manner regardless of location, speed limit, and traffic. -Checks vehicle to ensure it is safe to operate.

What You Bring
-Obeys State and Federal trucking laws. -Day Shift -Valid Drivers License -Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments. -Exhibits "defensive" driving skills. -Ability to work outdoors which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. -Ability to properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. -Prior CDL Driving Experience -Effective communication skills applicable to position. -Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary -A minimum of 1-2 years of asphalt paving experience preferred for one or more of the positions listed above
