Tasks

You will lead a high-performing team of five, creating the conditions for success in the newly formed Directorate. The role requires a motivated self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, builds strong collaborative relationships, and is confident working with a high degree of autonomy. You will be expected to solve problems creatively, influence senior leaders, and drive progress across a broad portfolio of business management priorities. -Be a visible and trusted member of the directorate, helping to shape collaborative ways of working, promote efficiency and effectiveness, and contribute to a positive workplace culture. -Act on staff feedback, including People Survey results, to improve engagement and enhance the directorate, implementing relevant initiatives and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement. -Managing competing priorities across a broad portfolio and delivering outcomes in a fast-paced and complex environment. -Build trusted relationships with the Director and SLT, understand their priorities, and offer timely advice on emerging issues and opportunities. -Lead a team of five Business Managers and PAs, providing pastoral support, and clear strategic and operational direction to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of business activities across both directorates. -Building strong relationships with senior leaders, providing advice, challenge, and support on strategic and/or operational issues. -Delivering core business functions such as workforce planning, financial oversight, governance, or risk management. -Proactively maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the department (such as HR and Finance Business Partners) to support joined-up working and effective delivery.
