Fabricates and modifies architectural wood doors, installing hardware and ensuring quality.

Tasks

-Assist in stocking and everyday help keep material organized in the wood door warehouse to maintain proper inventory status -Examine finished work pieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, and conformity to specifications, and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, tape measures, calipers, templates -Attach parts and subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws and or clamps -Adjust machine tables or cutting devices and set controls on machines to produce specified cuts or operations -Check and assist shipping and receiving personal that pulls wood doors from inventory or finished modifications that are completed -Inspect and mark completed work pieces and stack them on pallets, in boxes, so that they can be moved to the next workstation. -Perform routine maintenance on equipment in a safe manner and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed -Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot fabricating machines, such as saws, drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, mill end, wood nailing machines, jointers, mortisers, molders, and shapers -Install and hang frames and doors as well as hardware such as (but not limited to) closers, hinges, locks, thresholds, and sweeps, in the field as needed -Examine raw wood stock for defects, and to ensure conformity to size and other specification standards -Determine product specifications and materials, layout, work methods, and machine setup requirements, according to oral or written instructions, drawings, or work orders independent of supervision -Trim wood parts according to specifications, using planes, chisels, and wood files or sanders -Assist in the wood door shop with various tasks, such as undercuts, plastic laminate, lite kit cutouts, and dotul door machine -Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the wood shop

What You Bring

-At least 1 year of experience woodworking with related products -Forklift certification preferred -Current and valid US driver’s license preferred -High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience -Quick reaction time, precise control, good manual dexterity, keen focus, and the ability to creatively and thoughtfully problem solve as it relates to the work -Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware -Strong oral and written expression and comprehension skills -Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly -Ability to work overtime as needed -Accomplished in the use of power tools required for the work
