Tasks

-Ensures the quality, accuracy, and completeness of project work according to company policy, industry best practices, state & local statutes, and client requirements. -Serves as the licensed surveyor in charge of assigned projects. -History of supervising, managing and training field & office technicians. -Analyzes the department's fiscal needs including staffing and equipment; Assists in the development of yearly budgets, makes recommendations, and reconciles budgetary funds -Helps develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for field & office. -Produces complete and accurate surveys to aid the company's success. -Prepares and reviews RFQ, SOQ, and cost/fee proposals with clients and internal personnel and determines resource allocation, schedule, and project feasibility. -Encourages and supports the company's safety-oriented culture. -Manages personnel functions such as hiring, performance reviews, salary recommendations, staff training, and employee development. -Assigns work assignments and utilizes CAD platforms to meet satisfy client deliverables. -Makes suggestions & undertakes company mandated trainings to increase skill and ability. -Visits project sites as needed to meet with clients and monitor surveying progress. -Sets up contracts, monitors budgets, anticipates risk, discusses tendencies with manager. -Participates in business development activities and actively networks with clients and professional associations as needed. -Participates in weekly meetings covering workload, schedule, and personnel.

What You Bring

-Experienced with surveying control networks, the PLSS system, and QA/QC procedures. -Ability to use AutoCAD C3D, Microstation ORD to review and produce client deliverables. -Requires the ability to work on multi-discipline projects simultaneously. -Working knowledge of Trimble field equipment and Trimble Business Center. -Project management and client invoicing experience. -12+ years surveying experience (4 years as a licensed professional surveyor) -Professional Land Surveyor's License required (PLS, RLS, LS) -Ability to develop business and maintain client relationships -Experience with MS Office products (word & excel). -Valid US driver's license & good driving record & ability to travel, as needed. -Primarily an office position, ability to work outside on projects if needed. -Bachelor's or Associate's Degree / Land Surveying certificate (preferred) -Comfortable signing drawings & serving in responsible charge of projects. -Ability to operate in a mentor / mentee Team atmosphere -Desire to sit for Professional Land Surveyor's exam in neighboring states. -Ability to use a computer and work in an office environment. -Ability to apply current & new technology to develop projects. -Excellent communication skills. -Experienced with Aerial Drone and 3D Point Cloud scanning technology.
