Tasks
Responsible for the management of the derogation process for the Construction of contestable onshore assets Oversight over the Technical Feasibility of development projects The Engineering & Asset Management is responsible for undertaking four key roles; Asset Management, Technical Authority, Onshore Engineering and Offshore Engineering. The team is responsible for setting the technical engineering policies and standards to be used for Transmission Infrastructure, Monitoring Compliance during design and construction and for ensuring asset integrity and ensuring uninterrupted power system functionality. Involved in the introduction of new and/or innovative equipment to the Transmission System The Engineering and Asset Management is one of the areas which facilitates that role through the development of technical standards and functional specifications for all plant to be connected to the transmission system and the development of new and innovative technologies and methodologies. Production and updating of company specifications for the Onshore Transmission System In addition, these areas are responsible for ensuring that company requirements are incorporated in Project Design and Construction whether the works are carried out. Production and updating of company specifications for the Offshore Transmission System Be part of the Energy Market Transformation! Help them making the Grid ready to carry 80% of Ireland's Electricity from Renewable sources by 2030 and to be Net Carbon Neutral by 2050.

Technical Authority Specialist – Engineering & Asset Management Some experience in either the Specification, Feasibility, Design, Construction or commissioning of HV transmission equipment from 110 kV to 400 kV This role can be based out of their Dublin or Cork offices. The successful candidate in the role of Technical Authority Specialist will provide specialist engineering capability in support of the continued operation and development of the Transmission System. The successful candidate must be recognised as the renowned expert in their field externally and internally and able to influence at senior levels internally and with Commission for Regulation of Utilities, Government Departments, State Agencies and at Senior Management levels in customers who are developing Multi Million Euro Projects. Chartered Electrical Engineering qualification to honours degree level or equivalent qualification. Typically, 10 + years relevant post-qualification experience. Membership of applicable industry body for example Engineers Ireland, IET, CIGRE or equivalent Strong understanding of the requirements of stakeholders and industry for the transmission system and associated developments. Full drivers licence. Excellent technical knowledge in High Voltage Transmission Design with strong knowledge of transmission technology for example with HV Cables, Substations, or OHL) including new and emerging technologies. Ability to lead and influence others to move towards a common vision or goal and to work collaboratively with and through others. Experience of Site Inspections, Witnessing Testing and Commissioning of transmission equipment.
