Your time will be spent investigating, analyzing, and solving structural and architectural deficiencies involving existing buildings, parking structures, plazas, and other types of built structures. You will have the opportunity to work on different types of facade, roof, and structural systemsAnalyze field data and perform structural analysis via hand calculations or computer modeling to check as-built conditions or to perform strengthening designPrepare technical reports for clients that summarize your field investigation, analysis, and recommendationsWork with a project team to prepare design documents, including project drawings and specificationsAssist in project coordination and meetings with internal team membersReview project submittals and shop drawings as part of construction administration servicesPerform engineering site visits during construction to observe the implementation of your designQualifications3+ years of experience in performing condition assessments and investigations of structures, repair/retrofit design, facade restoration, roofing, or building scienceBachelor’s degree or better in structural/civil/architectural engineering from ABET-accredited institutionEmployees are encouraged to seek professional licensureStrong technical communication skills (written and verbal)Proficient in using MS Office suiteAbility to work in the office and in the field, including climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and riding on swing stages. This role may require occasional travel locally and outside the local area
