Materials Handler (2ND SHIFT)

Overview

Safely move and manage finished and unfinished materials on the 2nd shift.

Tasks

-Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor. -Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned. -Removes empty pallets from equipment. -Stacks and assembles materials into bundles. Bands bundles. -Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor. -Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. -Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Ensures that operators have all the raw materials to operate their equipment. -Reviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.

Requirements

What You Bring

-Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes. -Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time. -HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility. -Must be a trained and qualified Forklift Operator. -Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
