The Role

Overview

Plan and oversee maintenance/outage scope for large generators to ensure performance and reliability.

Tasks

-During peak outage seasons it may also include supporting the District Service Offices in performing outage related work scopes (Minor, Medium, or Major inspections) as a Field Service floor engineer or Field Service Project Manager (if the individual is qualified to do so). -Participate in and lead TMS meetings as required by the Technical Service Manager or District Service Manager. -Manage very diversified activities, using resources from many different parts of Siemens, customer organizations, and contractors. -Form and lead strong multi-functional teams to achieve customer and Siemens Energy product line objectives. -Support the data population of product information in product catalog databases. -Develop and present documents and presentations for internal and external use. -Resolution of customer issues based on operating experience, unit history, operating hours, and engineering analysis. -Provide technical feedback for, and participate in, key customer negotiations. -Participate in training of others on TMS procedures, including Engineers in Training and Field Service Engineers, for them to understand the outage planning processes. -Collaborate with customer maintenance plant, and operations managers. -Develop customer specific detailed outage scope recommendations for the generator and auxiliary equipment based on unit history and available products. These recommendations will include parts, component refurbishment, modifications, and upgrades. -Collaborate with other departments such as Marketing, Service Engineering, and the Frame Office to continuously improve Siemens Energy products and service offerings. -Update unit specific configuration records as indicated by the TMS meeting preparation and action items from the TMS meetings themselves. -Generate, maintain and update TMS Metrics. The metrics will be based on TMS process flow and will monitor critical steps in outage planning process. -Manage and implement the Total Maintenance Service (TMS) program for assigned Large Generator units with guidance from the Technical Service Manager for assigned units. -Review and analyze Siemens Energy technical recommendations to ensure their compatibility with the customer’s technical and commercial requirements. -Communicate key technical, commercial and customer issues upward to Senior Management.

What You Bring

-Experience with and ability to utilize product lifecycle management systems to review configuration records, drawings, and BOMs. -Strong background in Siemens Energy generator and auxiliaries operations, maintenance, and outage overhaul requirements. -Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers. -The preferred location is in the Orlando, FL office location. Charlotte, NC, Deer Park, TX or Mount Pleasant, PA office locations could also be considered under certain circumstances. Travel is approximately 20%. -Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field. 5+ years related work experience in Field Service or Service Engineering with an emphasis on Siemens Generators. -Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to create and present a report detailing outage scope recommendations.
