Tasks

-Participate in progress meetings and coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors. -Conduct field inspections of construction work to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. -Ensure compliance with environmental and safety protocols. -Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, daily logs, photos, and field notes. -Assist with quantity verification for payment estimates and change order evaluations. -Support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities. -Review contractor submittals, materials, and workmanship to verify adherence to project standards. -Identify, document, and report non-conformances and assist in resolving construction issues. -Monitor and document progress on various phases of construction (e.g., site prep, concrete, structural, utilities, roadways).

What You Bring

-3–6 years of experience in construction inspection or field engineering roles. -Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred. -Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. -Proficiency in inspection documentation and construction management software (e.g., SiteManager, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, MS Office, etc.). -Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. -Strong understanding of construction safety procedures and best practices. -Experience with VDOT, MDOT, DDOT, or WMATA construction projects preferred. -Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge specifications and OSHA safety standards. -Strong verbal and written communication skills. -Familiarity with construction documents, standards (e.g., ASTM, ACI, AASHTO), and relevant local building codes. -Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
