The Role

Overview

Create detailed CAD drawings for road and utility infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Providing input and technical guidance to mentor lower-level Designers working on the same or other projects. -Developing and reviewing orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings for roads and utilities. -Utilizing a CAD workstation to prepare complex layout and design drawings, applying both theoretical knowledge and practical design standards. -Performing checking procedures appropriate to the discipline, as assigned by the immediate supervisor. -Working closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated designs across roads and utilities. -Reviewing supplier data and shop drawings to support design coordination. -Interpreting and ensuring conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as Parsons policies and procedures. -Using advanced software (e.g., MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D) to develop engineering deliverables. -Meeting layout requirements and developing alternative design layouts as needed.

What You Bring

-Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment. -Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. -Mentoring capability to support junior drafters and promote drafting standards. -Ability to generate quantities and schedules from models/drawings (pipe lengths, fittings, chambers, cables, ducts, poles) and maintain accurate revision and register control. -Strong QA/QC mindset with attention to readability, presentation, and adherence to standards. -Experience supporting utility stakeholder/NOC processes and responding to comments with updated drawings and markups. -Performing advanced drafting tasks efficiently and accurately, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. -Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer, with strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D. -Strong understanding of utility clearance envelopes, separation requirements, and authority standards; familiarity with Bahrain local authority specifications and submission requirements. -Experience coordinating utilities with road geometry, grading, structures, and ROW constraints to avoid conflicts, including clash detection workflows. -Ability to produce utility plans, profiles/longitudinal sections, cross-sections, typical trench/bedding details, composite utility corridor drawings, and utility crossing/protection details. -Experience preparing coordinated utility layouts integrated with road corridors and structures. -10 years of related drafting experience in roads and infrastructure, including dry and wet utilities. -Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro is an advantage. -Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. -Experience generating quantity take-offs and extraction reports from design models. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe and/or Bluebeam for markups and reviews.
