The Role

Overview

Maintain and repair diesel trucks, vacuum trucks, and heavy-duty service vehicles.

Tasks

-Maintain cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the shop and yard -Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections -Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components with minimal supervision -Keep meticulous digital records of work performed and parts used -Communicate proactively with fleet management and operations staff -Provide mentorship and guidance to junior mechanics as needed

What You Bring

-Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple priorities -Quality Tools & Safe Shop Environment -Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience required; prior fleet maintenance experience is strongly preferred -Licensing: Valid Driver’s License required; CDL Class B or willingness to obtain within 6 months preferred -Equipment Knowledge: Experience with vacuum trucks, hydro-excavators, or municipal fleet equipment a strong plus -You stay cool under pressure and adapt to changing work priorities -Technical Skills: Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting experience with engines, DEF systems, and aftertreatment; must supply own tools -Communication: Bilingual a plus -Hydraulic & Electrical Systems: Must be proficient in hydraulic and electrical repair
