FEC Accounting Manager - Operational Finance

Tasks

-Review monthly G&A monitor and assist Financial Manager in updating forecast. -Review charitable contribution requests and ensure compliance with policy. -Ensure builders risk log is complete and insurance coverage is in place. -Review and approve orders from external suppliers. -Review all office contracts and lease agreements prior to submission to Financial Manager for approval. -Assist in resolution of daily office issues including vendor disputes, escalate to Financial Manager as appropriate. -Review and approve monthly journal entries. -Create supportive environment to develop high performing finance team, provide training opportunities and engage in mentoring relationships. -Review quarterly account reconciliations and make recommendations for improvement to Financial Manager. -Lead accountants and other related team members, provide timely performance feedback and contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilizing talent management systems. -Manage petty cash, payroll and joint venture bank accounts and reconciliations. -Analyze and update estimating recovery monitor and review with Financial Manager and Chief Estimator.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, and 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience -High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail -Displays actions related to profitability and risk management and effectively communicates risk management issues -Knowledgeable of policies and standards to ensure compliance while identifying financial risks -Exercises independent judgment and discretion with the ability to identify problems and initiate corrective action -Equipment industry experience preferred -Understands accounting implications of various contract terms -Able to observe performance and effectively provide performance feedback -Ability to manage many activities, requests, and short-cycle deadlines simultaneously -Thorough application of accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, general ledger) -Proficient with financial system applications, MS Excel, and MS Office -Supervisory/management of a small team preferred -Able to apply innovation to offer and implement suggestions to improve overall operations -Self-motivated, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little or no supervision while working in complex and changing environment. -Analytic ability to review and assess financial data, interpret trends, and recognize inconsistencies -Professional written and verbal communication skills -Demonstrates understanding of cash flows and implements procedures to optimize interest income
