IT Security Analyst I

Overview

Monitor and respond to security alerts, analyze incidents, and support IT security operations.

Tasks

-Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties. -Perform routine maintenance checks on systems to ensure that they are operating efficiently. -Handle requests and questions received via phone, e-mail, or an internal ticketing system in a timely and detail-oriented fashion. -Support mid and senior level team members as needed. -Analyze and assess security incidents and escalate to appropriate internal teams for additional assistance. -Communicate directly with end-users via phone, e-mail, and chat. -Document security events for reporting. -Work with customers to remediate security related issues based on operational needs. -Conduct log queries to assist with customer requests and tiered support. -Manage all situations in a professional manner with emphasis on customer service. -Execute authorized actions to contain security threats, such as disabling user accounts, resetting credentials, or isolating endpoints. -Participate in collaborative problem solving during live meetings and in chat discussions. -Champion a positive team spirit and culture built on integrity, inclusion, transparency, and accountability. -Interact with security systems, both local and remote. -Perform accurate and precise real-time analysis and correlation of log/alerts from a multitude of sources with a focus on the determination of whether the alerts constitute security incidents.

What You Bring

-Education Requirement: Associate degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP networking. -Familiarity with common attacks and techniques – such as credential Phishing, Denial of Service, Malware, Ransomware, Network/Web/Email spoofing, Email Lures/Pretexting, and Social Engineering. -Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long period, stand, walk, talk and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. -Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Security Operations role. -Certification Requirement: Security+, GIAC GSEC/GCIH, ISC2 CC, or similar industry certification -Travel: 1 0% -Ability to provide timely, clear, and complete communication using technically accurate terminology. -Fundamental knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. -Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel. -Ability to do fundamental troubleshooting and technical research. -Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred -Fundamental knowledge of security best practices -Company-provided STD and LTD
