The Role

Overview

Supervise construction projects, manage teams, schedules, safety, and quality.

Tasks

-Document and complete all punchlists in a timely manner -Prepare necessary reports (e.g. time sheets, work orders, daily reports and invoice approval) -Assure work quality - set standards for quality control -Develop Owner and Architect’s confidence -Review all drawings, specifications and subcontractor submittals -Recruit, organize, train, direct and coordinate field construction team including subcontractor’s direct hire work -Attend and participate in Safety Training Program and enforce safety procedures -Chair or attend pre-job conference, regular subcontractor meetings -Perform manual work only in rare circumstances when, in employee’s independent judgment, exigent circumstances require it -Perform start-up testing and turnover to Owner -Document final close-out and Owner’s acceptance -Verify subcontractor certificates of insurance -Prepare and maintain responsibility for CPM job schedule -Order materials and tools and plan supply allotment to avoid “crisis” buying

What You Bring

-Working knowledge of all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications for all trades), and prior experience as foreman or journeyman in at least one trade, or project engineer -Ability in problem-solving -Knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting and cost control -Knowledge of OSHA laws -Strong sense of urgency -Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification, or achievement of STS Certification within six months of hire, maintenance of active certification status -Extensive field construction experience at supervisory level -Able to perform all essential Asst. Supt./Project Engineer job responsibilities -Ability to travel as required by management -Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience (4 years as Assistant Superintendent) -Ability to supervise multiple projects over a large geographic area as required by management
