Tasks

-Contributes for spend category management strategies and action plans -Liase across internal and external teams to ensure On Time Delivery of MCE products and services -Develops, communicates, and executes against global procurement strategies and best practices for the region -Will provide management updates on supplier performance and team productivity -Engages and collaborates with cross-functional business teams for regional procurement by integrating plans and communicating risk & status clearly and crisply to management, calling out key issues, presenting risk mitigation options and recommendations to leadership -Provides management and leadership across the team to ensure the team's growth is in alignment with business needs -Serves an escalation point to resolve stakeholder issues within the regional team -Monitors and maintains full industry and market knowledge of equipment, suppliers, best practices, competitive landscape, etc. -Communicate and collaborate with all key stakeholders to ensure alignment of the overall strategy -Identifies and resolves various supplier management problems -Develops cost savings proposals and interacts closely with suppliers, and internal customers, to achieve the cost savings -Lead the regional procurement teams to implement procurement strategy effectively throughout region across the relevant categories -Communicate and implement strategy effectively throughout the relevant regional procurement teams -Accountable for resource planning (people, finances etc.) across the team -Creates and maintains cost forecasts (reduction or increase) and cost-tracking for the region -Directly engages suppliers at the appropriate levels to influence the best outcome for Equinix that exceeds the business requirements -Builds and maintains supplier relationships and drives improvement in the areas of cost, risk, and quality -Develops a vendor management strategy to “right size” the supply strategy for the region -Sets goals for immediate team members -Supports selection of new suppliers -Drives and delivers cost savings opportunities aligned with organizational commitments -Ensures KPI's are in place for the team which are appropriate for the needs of the function and its stakeholders -Partner with Category Management team to identify and mitigate supplier risks in the areas of financial, capacity, location, single sole source, spend, and revenue, etc. -Partners intra-regionally with business leaders, and other key stakeholders to execute capital purchases that deliver cost savings, reduce supplier lead times, and improve vendor performance -Supports appropriate supply agreements are in place and guides internal teams how to monitor adherence to the terms of the agreement -Establishes and delivers procurement goals, metrics, and work plans to meet operational objectives

-Utilizes a global perspective in the execution of procurement strategy within the region -Has an in-depth technical knowledge of all Equinix products/processes -Effectively communicates project management methodology and its application to customer solutions -Understands stakeholder needs and builds effective relationships. -Strong skills in negotiation and influence -Demonstrated experience with large-scale industrial engineering and construction programs, preferably data centers -Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience -15 years of relevant experience in procurement program management, supply chain management, category management or consulting Electrical and/or Mechanical Industrial Equipment -Master’s degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA -Demonstrates influencing skills to achieve solutions and dealing with challenging stakeholder situations
