Overview

Preparing detailed shop drawings and coordinating material procurement for joinery projects.

Tasks

-Sourcing hardware accessories and optimising where possible, raising material requisitions to procurement in a timely manner -Preparing quality shop drawings with high-level of detailing needs to take into consideration acceptable joinery practice and technique and consideration for wastage. Coordinating with factory on efficient detailing when required -Reviewing project details as per the project kick-off received from the setting out manager -Taking into consideration site-related parameters for access, assembly etc -Reviewing specifications of the project and obtaining clearance for discrepancies between specs and estimated details -Issuing cutting lists and loading lines to factory and communicating effectively this info with site installation teams when applicable -Coordinating to carry out/obtain timely site surveys or agree alternative options for issuing the job with line manager if site surveys not possible, such as oversizing and following an agreed setting out plan (usually in the case on fast-track projects) -Identifying and raising RFIs to the line manager for communicating with the project manager and for clarifications in a timely manner -Preparing the project drawings schedule -Managing the shop drawings preparation and submittal process -Raising job-related material requisitions and follow up effectively for timely delivery with procurement department -Identifying project material requirements and samples requirements -Planning schedules forward and forecast cutting lists issuance to manufacturing -Ensuring the timely project drawings approval process -Checking the materials allowed, details and incorporating all in detailed shop drawings. Clarifying discrepancies with line manager

What You Bring

-Capability to do 3D drawings is an added advantage -Sound knowledge of manufacturing procedures and common shop-fitting materials including timber, boards, laminates, metal, hardware and acrylics are vital -Well-versed in Autodesk AutoCAD and Microsoft Office -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a multinational environment -Suitable experience in all aspects of joinery setting out from site survey, preparation of manufacturing shop drawings, through to material take-off and ordering, preparation of site working drawings -Good knowledge of materials, technical properties and parameters, density, mechanical properties, homogeneity, available sizes, thicknesses, seasonal lead times, other constraints etc -Minimum of 3 to 5 years similar experience of setting out and performing detailed shop drawings in a shop-fitting or joinery manufacturing company
