The Role

Overview

Lead bridge inspections, manage safety, and generate inspection reports for Ohio projects.

Tasks

-Maintain technical knowledge through training and seminars. -Be responsible for general inspection crew, subcontractors (traffic control, police, etc.) and site safety/management. -Assist with Project Management tasks and provide technical leadership. -Meet with clients to discuss priority items and ensure timely submission of reports, schedules, etc. -Coordinate with design technicians for timely deliverables. -Use necessary tools and equipment for bridge evaluations. -Prepare documents for regulatory permits. -Use CAD and Microsoft Office programs for design documents and reports. -Assist with proposal production and marketing initiatives. -Prepare studies, construction documents, and reports for structural evaluation and design. -Perform or supervise load ratings of structures. -Identify, document, and photograph bridge component defects in the field. -Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and technical specifications. -Travel across the country as needed. -Assist with coordination, planning/scheduling, and mobilization for field personnel, equipment, lane closures, etc. -Communicate with Senior Engineers and Project Managers. -Lead all aspects of inspection assistants and coordinate traffic control sub-contractors. -Serve as Team Leader for bridge inspections. -Review shop drawings for contract compliance. -Ensure project schedules and budgets are met. -Generate bridge inspection reports using owner bridge management software, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and/or Microsoft Office. -Mentor team members.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. -Fracture Critical Certification - Preferred. -Design and load rating abilities are preferred, but not required. Potential design/load rating duties are noted below. -4+ years of experience performing bridge inspections and related engineering functions. -Professional Engineer (PE) in Ohio - Preferred. -NBIS Qualified bridge inspection team leader. -It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability.
