Tasks

-Prepare budget recommendations and assist in monitoring, verifying, and reconciling budgeted funds. -Maintain and update documentation for benefits procedures, identifying gaps and recommending process improvements to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. -Analyze benefits utilization, cost trends, and market benchmarks to evaluate plan performance and recommend strategic adjustments aligned with organizational goals and employee needs. -Support benefits plan audits by preparing and validating complex data, collaborating with actuarial teams to interpret findings, and recommending data driven improvements to ensure compliance and plan integrity. -Support Benefits Analysts with complex cases or inquiries escalated for further, more in-depth review. -Review and reconcile plan data, including participant records, contributions, and distributions. -Deliver high-level consultative support to internal and external stakeholders, resolving complex benefits inquiries with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and service excellence. -Monitor industry trends and conduct in-depth analysis of benefits survey data to forecast emerging patterns, support future plan design, and develop strategic recommendations for leadership review. -Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend strategies for cost containment, including alternative methods for administration and funding. -Provide customer reminders, support and training on fiduciary responsibilities and regulatory updates. -Oversee and support complex daily benefits operations, including enrollment, compliance, claims, and regulatory processes, while identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance service delivery. -Analyze and interpret plan documents, testing results, and government filings (e.g., Form 5500). -Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans. -Design and implement targeted communication tools to enhance employee understanding and engagement with the company’s benefits offerings across multiple customers and with varying plans. -Review both short- and long-term cost estimates, projections, and relevant statistical analyses related to changes in benefits programs and the implementation of new programs. -Collaborates with internal partners (such as accounting, treasury, audit, etc.) and plan providers to oversee compliance (internal and external) and identify and implement control updates and process improvements. -Assess and enhance internal benefits processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. -Manage employee benefits files, update group benefits database, and maintain employee payroll records. -Oversee the day-to-day administration of multiple 401(k) retirement plans, including executing post-payroll funding, verifying the processing of contributions, withdrawals, and other participant transactions. -Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations. Maintain timeliness and accuracy in required reporting and fees. -Develop and distribute clear, engaging materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions to support employee understanding and compliance. -Act as a strategic liaison between the organization and external benefits vendors and third-party administrators, custodian’s and investment advisors and ensuring seamless communication, issue resolution, and alignment with contractual obligations and service level agreements.

What You Bring

-Advanced knowledge of all relevant federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, that affect employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security, and DOL requirements. -CEBS Certification preferred. -Proficient in computer skills and technical abilities, including using Microsoft products such as PowerPoint, Excel Macros, and Pivot Tables; experience with HRIS and benefits databases. -Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long period, stand, walk, talk and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. -Excellent communication and organizational skills -Ability to work effectively in a team environment -Understand data transfer flow to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration. -Travel %: Up to 10% -Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant benefits experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. -Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Effective planning and prioritization skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
