The Role

Tasks

-Incorporate feedback into BIM (Building Information Modeling) models and system designs. -Follow all OSHA standards and laws, and incorporate safety standards into designs. -Make revisions to drawings, plans, & models as requested. -Design of Fire and Alarm System drawings, as-built drawings, system calculations, and Riser diagrams. -Submit installation drawings for approval to AHJ. -Read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings. -While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects. -Attend regular development meetings. -Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the design & CAD process. -Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. -Re-create new (MEP) and structural drawings under existing conditions for design coordination. -Assist project managers with permits, system changes/modifications, and tracking project changes and revisions. -Pursue ongoing education in the Fire Safety field. -Provide accurate electrical schematics per client conditions and analyze and track technical specifications including dimensions, arrangements, and installation procedures. -Apply and Submit drawings for approval to AHJ (installation permits). -Keep up to date on all modern advancement in manufacturer’s equipment, Building Codes changes, and software technologies.

-The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity. -At least 2 years of experience utilizing AutoCAD software. -Electrical Construction industry knowledge (preferred) -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner. -2-year degree in related field (preferred) -Bachelor's or Certifications (preferred) -Minimum 2 years working in a professional environment.
