Tasks
-Assist Chief Engineer with weekly schedule. -Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge guests, however busy and whatever time of day. -Responsible for responding and handling all engineering and emergency related issues. -Follow up on projects and assignments given by the General Manager. -Ensures communication with Chief Engineer,General Manager, all other Department Managers, and Engineering Staff -Ensure the proper operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment. -Establishes, maintains, and trains standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department. -Assist Chief Engineer with conducting departmental meetings. -Develop and implement an inspection and preventive maintenance program of all building, equipment, and guest rooms, including the training of the Engineering staff on the management of such a program. Including written documentation of work performed. -Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Engineering Department: -Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. -Maintains facility and grounds quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications.

-Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company’s business operations. -Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram -Ability to provide legible written communication. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. -Ability to accurately compute mathematical calculations and use required measurement tools. -Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiry. -Working knowledge of repair and maintenance regarding: health codes; plumbing codes; plant equipment; electrical codes; architectural codes; structural codes; blue prints and wiring/plumbing schematics; building code improvement; mechanical and electrical/safety systems construction; national/local fire codes; proper chemical -Knowledge of all mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the building. -Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guest, management, and co-workers to their understanding. -Ability to interpret manufacturer’s literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and -Training in refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical is a must. -HVAC, and CPR Certification are preferred. -Minimum of one years of experience in a large facility or hotel; relative franchise experience a plus.
