BIM Specialist

Overview

Produce and coordinate BIM/shop drawings for mechanical and plumbing projects.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Independently checks CAD work against mark-ups to ensure high quality. -Work with and prepare external documents for mechanical and/or plumbing projects. -Work with project teams to produce accurate and cost-effective mechanical and/or plumbing coordinated and constructible shop drawings. -Create and maintain accurate clash detection within Navisworks throughout the BIM process. -Review all project submittals and specifications provided by the project management team. -Communicate and collaborate with VDC project management and the VDC team to create high quality drawings that meet project standards, milestones, and deliverables. -Attend all coordination/BIM meetings between GC and other sub-contractors. Via Teams, Zoom, and at times on job site. -Work directly with ductwork and pipe fabrication shops to ensure quality of models ahead of installation. -Facilitate planning meetings with the field and prefab teams to create plans/schedules for the implementation of model-based prefab. -Generate bill of material, Trimble files, spools and spool maps.
