The Role

Overview

Lead site land surveying crew, operate equipment, conduct surveys, ensure QA/QC.

Tasks

-Use appropriate survey equipment, conventional, GPS/GNSS and laser scanning, to efficiently and accurately perform a wide range of field survey procedures. · -Will be responsible for performing property surveys, topographic survey and mapping, construction stakeout and other survey projects for private, government and commercial clients. -Understand and follow all applicable safety procedures. -Perform QA/QC to verify that the data complies with the project requirements. -Keep survey field vehicle in good condition. -Performs basic maintenance of the survey field equipment and understand its operation. -Take survey field notes, sketches, and other written records on a daily basis. -Responsible for operation and care of all survey instruments including Total Station, level, and GPS.

What You Bring

-4 years of site surveying with railroad and/or DOT knowledge or experience a plus -Exposure to a variety of large and complex projects including, but not limited to, Transportation projects- rail/roadway, environmental surveys and more. -Experience supervising site survey teams -Familiarity and download procedures – raw data processing AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation platforms Excel/Word Software -Travel up to 70% for up to 3 - 10 days at a time. -Railroad knowledge or experience a plus -Experience with Federal and government clients a plus -Access to new and state of the art equipment to complete surveying functions. -Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (i.e. - Associate's Degree plus 6 years of experience or High School diploma or equivalent and 8 years of experience) -Read and understand survey notes, sketches, maps, deeds, as-builts, construction plans and drawings and records. -Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. -Valid Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites, and as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review -Willingness to travel extensively to multiple project sites from 3-10 days at a time. Up to 70% travel with a varied work load
