Tasks

-Conduct emission credit market analysis at national and sub-national levels -Develop and refine economic models and market fundamentals analysis for various environmental commodities, such as carbon offsets, and Emission Performance Credits (EPCs) -Monitor, analyze and communicate implications of emerging climate change policy developments that impact the Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines assets -Maintain and manage the Canada Gas emission credits database across multiple jurisdictions -Develop and maintain emission costs forecasting and modeling -Support in emission credits and compliance instruments procurement process -Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and visualizations to track emissions forecasts, credit market trends, and compliance performance -Participate in Government-led auctions to procure compliance instruments, such as emission allowance, needed for compliance in cap-and-trade jurisdictions -Assist with annual emissions compliance activities across all jurisdictions -Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams on emissions strategy and compliance related activities -Manage projects, consultant work, schedules and budgets as needed

What You Bring

-University degree in Business, Economics, Environmental Science or related fields -Strong problem solving and decision-making skills to resolve complex and ambiguous issues -Strong networking, communication and interpersonal skills, possess the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders -Working knowledge of Alberta Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction Regulation (TIER) and other similar emission management legislations -Minimum 3-5 years of experience in related work such as: environmental policy, sustainability, regulatory, air emissions and greenhouse gas reporting, or commercial. -Knowledge of environmental laws/regulations and practices pertaining to the energy sector -Specific experience in environmental risk management, climate change regulatory and policy issues considered an asset -Advanced working knowledge of SAP, Excel; Power BI is considered an asset -Advanced analytical ability to gather and evaluate complex information obtained from a variety of sources -Emission credits transactions experience -Experience working with federal and provincial regulatory agencies
