HVAC Journeyman

Tasks

-Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner -Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, and off-site learning modules -Download programs into commercial HVAC equipment and Micro controllers and analyze chiller trend data to ensure optimal performance -Conduct warranty service application by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of all commercial HVAC equipment -Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets -Lead and participate in the rebuild and retrofit of commercial HVAC level units including the direction of apprentice level technicians through hands-on demonstration of the necessary steps -Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld -Perform service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality including but not limited to chillers, fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes -Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines -Perform intermediate and advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of commercial HVAC equipment -Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring -Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks -Educate technical and non-technical customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual usage

-The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth -Factory Certified Training, Refrigeration Certification or other professional on the job training in the HVAC Industry -5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience -Accepted as Journeyman by the union -Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record -Member of local union or willing to join the union -Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district -Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians -Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position -OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process) -Current first aid / CPR card -Commercial HVAC Industry Experience -High School Diploma or GED -Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
