Tasks

-Perform and review quantity takeoff comparisons to provide evaluation for accuracy and acceptance -Work with scheduling staff and Operations to develop accurate and precise bid schedules -Review, analyze and interpret contract documents for complete understanding of the work and owner deliverables to provide accurate, detailed cost estimates. -Present complete and accurate estimates to ensure confidence in decision making. -Provide creative and innovative thinking to analyze and develop strategy and value engineering solutions. -Review opportunity pursuits and develop preliminary budget estimate and itemized summary for go/no-go evaluation. -Occasional travel to job sites for project assessments -Identify critical issues and develop risk exposure summary with associated cost impacts

What You Bring

-Highly knowledgeable in earthwork, underground drainage, sewer, watermain and general roadway construction. IDOT and/or INDOT experience is preferred -A remote/hybrid arrangement is available with the right experience preferably with Indiana or Illino is DOT experience. Depending on residing location, travel may be increased. -Prolonged periods of sitting or standing during estimation tasks -Site visits may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and exposure to outdoor conditions -Occasional travel between our Illinois and Indiana offices can be expected -Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil estimating -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management and related field experience -Ability to lift up to 25 lbs -Limited travel will be required for pre-bids, site walks, owner meetings, home office, etc. -Effective communication and interaction with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers -Proficient in Bid2Win or similar estimating software and exceptional Microsoft Office skills; Primavera P6, Bluebeam and AutoCad experience is a plus -Precise attention to details and exceptionally organized -Highly motivated self-starter -Thrive in fast-paced environment with ability to deliver under deadlines -Must be capable managing time for self and ability to prioritize and schedule efficiently -Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. -This position is ideally based in one of our local offices: Rockford IL, Indianapolis IN or Springfield, IL. -Company representation at pre-bids and site visits -Extensive experience with earthwork and underground is required, PCC paving and concrete knowledge is a plus
