Tasks

-Prepare proposals, develop work plans, schedules, and budgets and management of projects/tasks -Develop preliminary conceptual hydrogeological models to support field program design -Design and oversee implementation of hydrogeology field investigations including drilling and logging of overburden and bedrock core, sampling of soil, groundwater and bedrock -Support development of numerical groundwater models to support dewatering requirements and environmental impact assessments -Collaborate with Stantec hydrogeologists across North America -Work with multidisciplinary teams to design and execute baseline studies, feasibility studies, and other hydrogeological investigations to support client objectives. -Participate in Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work -Design and oversee single well and multiwell aquifer test programs -Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner -Provide technical leadership for the hydrogeological components of diverse and complex projects across the globe -Maintain a disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence -Design and oversee installation of monitoring wells, supply wells, dewatering wells, and vibrating wire piezometers -Prepare technical reports and client presentations summarizing project work, findings and recommendations -Provide mentorship, technical guidance and technical review to our junior and intermediate hydrogeologists

What You Bring

-Travel as required to various field sites with overnight travel sometimes required (valid driver’s license is required) -Overall wellrounded experience in hydrogeology, particularly with mining and water resource development -Possess proficient skills in communication and technical information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia, as well as nontechnical communication to the public -Minimum undergraduate degree directly related to hydrogeology (Geology, Geological, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering) -Proficiency in using GIS tools -Possess good knowledge of water and groundwater related regulations and permitting processes -Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication are required (record of publications, project reports, and/or public presentations will be requested) -Demonstrate sound understanding and application of established practices, standards, and guidelines from state and federal agencies and other professional bodies -Strong business development, client management, communication, and financial management skills are essential -Excellent communication skills: verbal, technical writing, electronic communications and presentations -Proficiency with numerical groundwater modeling software is considered an asset -Proficiency in interpreting aquifer test results -Team player able to work cooperatively and effectively to develop solutions to unique problems that often involve multiple technical disciplines -A minimum of 10 years of related hydrogeological experience -Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration (PG or PE) -A graduate degree related to hydrogeology is considered a strong asset -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and mentor junior and intermediate staff -Possess strong problemsolving skills and ability to make timely decisions -Ability to manage multiple tasks, changing priorities and deliver on time and within budget
