Journeyman Pipefitter

Overview

Install, maintain, and repair industrial piping systems for various process industries.

Tasks

-Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications -Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods -Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions on jobsites -Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment following blueprints -Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment according to specifications -Select pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, hangers, or hydraulic cylinders according to specification -Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps tool, or welding equipment

What You Bring

-Working mechanical knowledge and ability to read P&IDs -Ability to read blueprints and drawings -Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and walk a project site -OSHA 10 (within 5 years) -Heavy physical effort required for frequent lifting or moving of heavy materials -Must be able to travel -Strong experience in mechanical construction -High School diploma and 8 or more years of previous pipefitter experience -Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach -Work safely and effectively in a team environment.
