The Company

About El Paso Water

-The utility evolved under a Public Service Board established in 1952. -It serves El Paso around the clock, managing water, wastewater, and stormwater for a desert metropolitan area. -It pioneers sustainability—using aquifers, Rio Grande intake, desalination and reclamation to secure future supply. -A flagship project, the Pure Water Center, treats wastewater to drinking‑water standards, a first‑in‑nation approach. -Governed by a seven‑member board including the mayor, it manages capital, operating budgets and rate‑setting. -Typical projects include aquifer recharge, leak detection, community education and conservation rebate programs. -Projects often attract international attention as models of arid‑region water resource management.
