The Role

Overview

Prepare technical & commercial bid proposals for water and wastewater projects.

Tasks

-Risk Assessment: Identifying potential project risks (technical, commercial, schedule, safety) and developing mitigation strategies. -Design Coordination: Working with in-house design teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to develop preliminary designs, process flow diagrams (P&IDs), and layout drawings to support the bid. -Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Collaborating with estimating teams to develop detailed cost estimates, prepare project budgets, and conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed designs or projects. -Project Handoff: Ensuring a smooth transition of information and documentation from the bidding phase to the project execution team upon successful contract award. -Foster teamwork and collaboration within and between department(s) -Tender Review and Analysis: Reviewing and interpreting complex tender documents, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and specifications to fully understand the client's needs and project scope. -Stakeholder Communication: Serving as a primary point of contact for internal teams, clients, and external regulatory agencies during the bidding phase. -Proposal Preparation: Leading the preparation of comprehensive technical and commercial bid submissions, ensuring all aspects of the client's specifications and regulatory requirements are met. -Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Identifying potential suppliers and subcontractors, soliciting quotes, and evaluating bids to ensure competitive and technically sound solutions. This includes negotiating terms and conditions.

What You Bring

-Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes (physical, chemical, biological methods). -Project management and organizational skills. -Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting requirements. -Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microstation, hydraulic modeling software like BioWin, InfoWorks, H2OMap, etc.). -Valid US driver’s license and strong driving safety record (no more than 2 moving violations in previous 3 years). -Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety standards. -A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering is typically required, with a Master's degree often preferred.A Professional Engineer (PE) license is often a requirement for senior roles. -Bi-Weekly (26x/year) -Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and P&IDs. -Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. -Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. -Acceptable background check, clear of DWI convictions, for the last 5 years. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
