Tasks

-Leadership within the planning business at Arup. This may include: leading projects, managing staff and helping to shape the strategic direction for the City Planning team. -Work within multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, technical, digital, research and innovation. -Growing the planning team and capability in Adelaide.

What You Bring

-Understanding of statutory and strategic planning across South Australia, a real understanding of the strategic context of growth planning with ability to demonstrate what issues matter on the projects you deliver -Experience in planning reform for government across policy, statutory and operational spheres. -Presence in market. Established connections within the industry. Ability to identify opportunities, pursuits and future directions of clients. -Ability to deliver high-quality technical work across policy review, spatial analytics, infrastructure requirements, statutory analysis, and approvals. -Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in Planning, along with tertiary qualifications in Planning, Economics, Social Sciences, Engineering or similar. Experience within a consulting or government (pref) environment is highly regarded. -Adelaide based but integrated into broader national and global planning team. -Experience working on projects, with an understanding of scope and timeframes and the commercial realities of program delivery. -Experience in business development, bidding or procurement will be advantageous. -Experience in precinct planning from policy creation to development facilitation -Depth of market understanding - Understanding the movement and future opportunity in SA, what's needed to deliver on growth predictions. -Client relationship and management skills.
