Drywall Finisher

Overview

Prepare interior drywall panels for painting by taping, finishing joints, and smoothing surfaces.

Tasks

-Apply drywall compound, nail/screw indentations on the surface of panels -Press paper tape over joints to embed tape into sealing compound and to seal joints -Seal joints between plasterboard or other wallboard to prepare wall surfaces for painting or papering -Spread sealing compound between boards or panels or over cracks, holes, nail heads, or screw heads, using trowels, broad knives, or spatulas -Lift and/or pull 75lbs., climb ladders, work off ladders, man lifts or other equipment -Support activities at all Swinerton job-sites as directed -Sand or patch nicks or cracks in plasterboard or wallboard -Apply additional coats to fill in holes and make surfaces smooth -Adhere to all OSHA and Swinerton safety practices and procedures -May supervise small crews -Use mechanical applicators that spread compounds and embed tape in one operation -Install metal molding at wall corners to secure wallboard -Prepare unfinished interior drywall panels for painting by taping and finishing joints and imperfections -Remove extra compound after surfaces have been covered sufficiently
