Tasks
-Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training, performance feedback, and instilling accountability. -Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency, including automation and reporting tools. -Coordinate and review operating budgets, cash flow projections, and variance analyses. -Oversee day-to-day accounting functions for a multifamily Property Management Company including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, property billing, intercompany transactions, and payroll. -Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements. -Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies. -Provide ongoing variance analysis, operational trend reporting, and recommendations to improve performance. -Coordinate and deliver monthly financial reporting packages, including bank reconciliations and cash flow reporting, to ownership. -Manage annual external audit. -Establish and maintain standardized accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

AION Management, a leading real estate investment and management firm, is seeking a Management Company Controller to join its team. The Controller will serve as the financial leader of the vertically integrated Property Management Company, responsible for the day-to-day financial operations including oversight of AP/AR, ensuring accurate and transparent financial reporting, operational efficiency, internal controls, and compliance across a portfolio of managed multifamily assets. This role oversees all accounting, financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting activities, while providing strategic financial insights to senior management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Management Company accounting and an ability to optimize processes and streamline systems within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to all aspects of the business, with significant potential for growth and development. -Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred but not required. -Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience building financial models and management dashboards is a plus. -Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. -Proficiency with property management accounting software (RealPage, Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, etc.). RealPage experience a big plus. -7-10 years of accounting experience within property management or real estate
