Tasks
-Inputting a tender win strategy for each individual tender. -Prepare submission documents in line with the bid and corporate requirement. -Collate targeted feedback on successful projects and provide advice for future tenders. -Actively engage, and develop long term relationships with, key supply chain organisations. -Provide informal and formal support and guidance to other members of the estimating team. -Prepare site preliminary cost estimates in accordance with the current Company trading requirements. -Identify opportunities for margin growth, identify and analyse risks and produce the associated risk register. -Responsible for completing PDR’s for all direct reports. -Participate in post tender interviews, presentations and negotiations with clients and ensure the successful handover to delivery teams following award. -Attend tender settlement meetings ensuring all relevant cost information is available for presentation and complete the tender as instructed. -Developing innovative approaches where appropriate to differentiate the bid from competitors.

What You Bring
-Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures. -Able to demonstrate relevant managerial and/or technical experience at a senior level. -Likely to be educated to Degree level or equivalent. -Fully conversant with CESWI specification and CESMM -Knowledge of estimating process utilising a computerised analytical estimating system. (CANDY preferable but not essential) -Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter. -Track record of success in supporting a major contract or Business Unit and/or providing support to a professional function. -Proven Estimating experience including schedule of rates bottom up estimating and cost curves. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values: Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration. -Extensive experience of estimating from first principals. -Understanding of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s) -Full understanding of Conditions of Contract -Experience in risk management techniques. -Strong commercial acumen and good analytical skills. -Clean Water, Wastewater and Sludge Treatment infrastructure and non-infrastructure experience preferred. -Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. -High level of commercial awareness and technical knowledge. -Ability to challenge team constructively.
