What You Bring

If you do not have a Safety Critical medical or a Highway Safety Passport but have the right skills and qualifications, we can help get these booked for you upon a confirmed start on the project. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a safety-critical medical before working and must possess a valid National Highways Safety Passport. The project is for approximately 3-6 months in duration. Electricians are required for work on a major highway tunnel upgrade scheme in Plymouth. -Upgraded air quality monitoring sensors. -Easy‑access cable duct covers and relocation of some equipment outside the tunnel for easier future maintenance. -New tunnel control and traffic management system: replacing more than 20-year-old systems. -New signage & electronic information boards/gantries, including large electronic signs on the approaches displaying live traffic/travel information. -LED lighting to improve efficiency and visibility. -Automatic barriers/traffic signals to improve safety, especially in emergencies or incidents.

The work will be mainly on nights, with shifts Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. There is no overtime. -Ventilation system upgrades to better manage air quality inside the tunnel.
