Monitor and manage arterial traffic operations, incidents, and ITS systems.

Tasks
-Coordinate with signal timing staff and county or city/municipality staff as required to adjust signal timing as needed in response to scheduled and unscheduled events -Follow FDOT District 4 policies and procedures, including the District 4 TSM&O SOP -Coordinate with maintenance staff as needed -Enter all scheduled and unscheduled events and congestion into SunGuide software -Perform daily Arterial ITS infrastructure checks (CCTVs, DMS, MVDS, Video Wall, etc.) early in the mornings and open ITS device failure tickets for malfunctions detected during the check -Coordinate with other Control Room staff, law enforcement, and external agencies in response to incidents -Act as essential personnel during emergency events as needed to support MTC operations’ needs -Disseminate information using ITS devices, website, and Florida 511 system -Dispatch SIRVs to motorists, events, and to assist law enforcement in a timely and efficient manner -Detect, confirm, update, and respond to scheduled and unscheduled traffic and incident management events on the arterial network, congestion, and travel time imbalances in the geographical coverage area -Monitor the status of arterial network using CCTV, SIRV, Road Ranger Service Patrols (future), detector data, Bluetooth devices, etc. -Detect, confirm, and report equipment faults affecting Control Room equipment and field equipment, including equipment maintained by the signal timing agency -Follow time requirements in the District 4 TSM&O SOP for event confirmation, RRSP and SIRV dispatching, etc.

What You Bring
-Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask -High School Degree, or equivalent -Arterial Operators are responsible for monitoring the AMS roadways and possess strong familiarity with the district’s arterial network -Ability and willingness to work alternate schedules and function as essential personal (including during regional emergencies) -Over one year of experience in transportation, public safety, and/or commercial operations -Able to work in a small team environment -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with clients and/or partner agencies -Proficiency in computing and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) -Strong work ethic -General knowledge and interest in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic management standards -Good time and task management skills
