Tasks

The Interior Design Manager will oversee the design and construction of assigned residential and commercial office capital renovation projects. Oversight includes design analysis and development, Consultant and Contractor management, and progress reporting to the President. -Manage the residential and commercial office design process, track changes made to plans, and review subsequent plan iterations. -Review and approval of pay-applications, invoices, and billings. -Provide President/Managers with on-going, timely written and verbal communication regarding all projects or issues. -Manage the construction process and track changes in scope. -Lead project meetings and produce meeting minutes as required. -Provide leadership and guidance to create a positive, team approach among members of the projects. -Make site visits to oversee quality control and inspection of work-in-progress. -Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and develop estimated budgets and valuation models. -Track and secure appropriate approvals, certifications, permits, etc. from city and other government agencies as required. -Work with the President on residential and commercial office capital improvement projects. Help develop scopes of work, identify contractors for the work, solicit bids, write contracts, and oversee work completion.

What You Bring

We are currently looking to hire an experienced Interior Design Manager to manage the design and construction of several high-end residential homes as well as commercial offices. An ideal candidate would have both residential and commercial design experience, contractor management experience, and most importantly a passion for helping guide something nice into something wonderful. -Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, design, construction management, engineering, or building sciences preferred. -Proficient computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office. -Experience in profit and loss responsibility, subcontractor management, client relations, construction estimating, overseeing new construction, additions, remodeling. -Excellent budgeting, supervision and managerial skills, organization, problem solving, interpersonal, analytical skills, and be capable of handling multiple tasks and multi-step projects. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Some out of state travel may be required. -Valid Driver’s License and registered automobile -Possess a positive outlook with ability to stay organized and efficient under pressure. -Minimum 5 years’ experience in interior design and/or project management, including coordinating all phases of construction. -Time management skills, must understand and be able to work within deadlines.
