The Role
Overview
Install, test, and maintain commercial fire alarm systems.

Tasks
-Troubleshoot and repair system wiring, devices, and loop terminations (including SCC and dull wire). -Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas. -Comply with all company policies and procedures. -Assist with the set-up and operation of trade specific equipment and machinery. -Contributes to the development and improvement of concepts, techniques and procedures. -Document work performed, including testing and inspection results. -Contributes to project efficiency and continuous improvement. -Maintain tools, clean job sites, and ensure materials are stocked. -Participate actively in the company-sponsored apprenticeship program. -Work in all types of weather. -Work collaboratively with team members, clients and management while following safety practices and material handling procedures. -All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected. -Inspect and test systems to ensure functionality per NFPA standards and local fire codes. -Install and service fire alarm devices including control panels, detectors, speakers, and pull stations. -Pull and terminate low-voltage cabling (CAT3–CAT6a, fiber, coax, etc.). -Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings. -Coordinate and communicate system status, repairs needed, and safety protocols to clients or management. -Builds on Fire Alarm Technician-1 responsibilities with more complex work performed independently.

What You Bring
-3+ years of experience working independently and on more complex installations. -7+ years of experience. -1-2 years of experience in low-voltage or electrical work (commercial projects preferred) -Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License required. -Denver Blue Card preferred. -Basic knowledge of fire alarm panels and systems. -NICET Level 1 preferred or must obtain within 6 months of hire. -Ability to mentor lesser experienced Fire Alarm Technicians. -High school diploma or equivalent preferred. -Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50 lbs. -Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch. -Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations. -Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License preferred. -NICET Level II certification required. -Ability to develop and lead up to 5 Fire Alarm Technicians. -Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools. -Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills.
