Tasks
-Serve as the technical project engineer and subject matter expert for assigned areas of responsibility, including specific functions, facility types, equipment, or products -Lead major projects or multiple complex projects of moderate to large scope, often self-initiating assignments and determining necessary courses of action -Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects, maintaining influential communications with internal and external stakeholders -Design and test components, integrating them to produce final products while monitoring quality and controlling process efficiency -Provide work direction and oversight for teams of engineers, technicians, interns, craft personnel, and other professionals -Coordinate processes related to budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management for engineering projects -Conceive and develop procedures, codes, and standards for problem areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring unconventional or innovative approaches -Apply extensive technical expertise and advanced principles, theories, and concepts while contributing to the development of new technical standards -Participate in bid and evaluation processes, including preparation of bid documents, technical evaluations of proposals, and review of selection recommendations -Manage design, equipment specification and selection, installation, start-up, commissioning, and evaluation of work progress across multiple critical projects

-Ability to develop and apply innovative approaches to complex technical challenges -Project management and coordination skills -Proficiency in creating simulations and prototypes for design evaluation -Root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities -Advanced technical expertise with higher-level understanding of related engineering disciplines -Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement -Professional Engineering license or Engineering in Training certification with commitment to obtain Professional Engineering license strongly preferred -Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum or recognized equivalency -Strong leadership and team management capabilities -Three or more years of relevant engineering experience -Civil engineering degree strongly preferred
