Tasks

-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with USACE standards. -Oversee and manage the quality control and assurance processes for dam embankment and USACE construction projects. -Prepare and present quality reports to senior management and clients. -Lead and participate in preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish quality expectations for each phase of work. -Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with district management, project management teams, authorized inspectors, and engineers or clients as required. -Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. -Train and mentor project staff on quality control procedures and best practices. -Support project teams in the development and implementation of project quality plans and supplemental procedures as needed. -Review and approve project submittals, shop drawings, and material specifications. -Oversee code compliance for work. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Liaison between the authorized inspection agency and jurisdictional authorities. Assist in acquiring authorized inspection services for the projects. -Maintain detailed documentation of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance reports. -Ensure all materials received for the project meet approved specifications and are properly handled and stored. -May have direct reports and be responsible for their development. -Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met. -Assist project teams in setting up the quality department and preparing for project kick-off and pre-job planning meetings. Assist in identifying the proper Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s), checklists, and other documentation for the project. -Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to ensure adherence to quality standards. -Facilitate the resolution of issues by working with Project Managers.

What You Bring

-Effective organizational and time management skills. -Minimum of 15 years of experience in quality management for dam embankment and USACE construction projects. -Exceptional math, computer, verbal, and written communication skills. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Current USACE "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" certification. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals of area/specialty/function. -Proficiency in RMS 3.0 and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). -Regular, reliable attendance -Valid driver's license with a good motor vehicle record. -Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. -Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques. -Proven track record of successfully managing quality control for large-scale construction projects.
