Trades Assistant

Overview

Assist tradespeople with general labour, cleaning, and safety tasks in a shipyard environment.

Tasks

-Reduce waste in all its forms. -Demonstrate First Attack Fire Fighting Equipment. -Hold self and workmates accountable to HSEQ standards. -Assist tradespeople when required. -Participate in Confined Space Entry, Sentry, and Fire Sentry duties. -Ensuring good housekeeping is practiced. -Understand, embrace, implement, and comply with all Austal Policies and Procedures related to HSEQ. -Assist in all aspects of the docking evolution.

What You Bring

-1 year experience in Confined Space Entry Sentry and Fire Sentry. -EWP + 11m. -Working at Heights & Confined Space. -Based at our Brisbane site in Morningside -Ability to use standard hand tools. -Hold good time management skills and ability to meet targets set by the supervisor. -Upskilling provided: Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights & Confined Spaces -Work in accordance with an issued permit. -Current Forklift Ticket -1 year experience in general labouring. -Ability to work autonomously or as part of as team. -Current Drivers & Forklift licence -Capable of performing work in a safe and acceptable manner.
