The Role
Overview
Design fire protection systems, create drawings, calculations, and ensure code compliance.

Tasks
-Provide technical support to site teams during construction, installation, and commissioning. -Ensure all designs comply with Indian standards and codes such as IS, OSID, NFPA, UL, FM and local authority requirements. -Attend design review meetings, HAZOPs, and project kick-off sessions etc. -Support preparation and review of technical submittals, IFC/shop drawings, and as-built documentation. -Interact with internal discipline (Process, Electrical, Instrumentation etc). -Perform hydraulic calculations using software (e.g., PIPENET, SprinkCALC, Elite, etc) to size piping and ensure system performance. -Prepare design drawings (layouts, sections, details) for: -Ensure compliance with NFPA, NBC, HCIS, FM Global, and project/client-specific standards. -Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation). -Generate Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs (MTO), and datasheets. -Attend design review meetings, site coordination calls, and support site execution/commissioning when required. -Interface with clients, consultants, AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction), and internal stakeholders.

What You Bring
-Strong knowledge of NFPA codes (especially NFPA 13, 14, 20, 72, 2001). -Good communication and coordination skills. -Familiar with international and local fire safety codes and standards. -10 to 15 years of relevant experience in fire protection system design and engineering, preferably in Industrial projects. -Fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action) -Team player with proactive coordination skills. -Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and hydraulic calculation tools. -Fire suppression systems (e.g., FM-200, Novec 1230, CO₂, IG-541) -Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. -Excellent written and verbal communication. -Experience with fire alarm interface logic and F&G systems. -Deluge systems and foam-based protection -Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit etc. -Strong knowledge of fire codes and regulatory requirements.
