The Role

Overview

Power system modelling engineer for naval projects, handling design, analysis, testing, and support.

Tasks

-Perform system and equipment design and specification, support test & validation, commissioning and in through life service support. -Undertake power system studies and analyses using simulation software, such as MATLAB, DIGsILENT and/or ETAP. -Ensure Power System designs comply with the relevant health & safety, international standards, and class society rules where applicable. -Produce clear and concise engineering documentation. -Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, such as leadership teams, customers and suppliers, managing requirements. -Ensure designs comply with relevant class and marine standards.

What You Bring

-Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport (“UK Eyes only”) -Familiarity with marine classification society standards, MIL or DEF standards. -Willing to travel within the UK and internationally for short-term assignments. -Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance. -Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject, relevant experience would be beneficial. -Working towards or hold CEng qualification. -Relevant equipment and systems-level experience, preferably in industrial, marine, or naval defense sectors. -Expertise in one or more of the following: power system modelling, power electronics, machines and drives (PEMD).
